The best news
you’ll ever hear.
You are loved by God more than you know — and there is a way home. Wherever this morning finds you, the road back to Him is open, it’s bright, and it starts right here.
The whole thing, in one breath.
Before we take it slow, here it is all at once — four simple truths that change everything.
God loves you
Not the polished version of you — the real you. He made you on purpose and wants to know you.
Something’s in the way
Our sin — every honest heart knows it’s there — separates us from a perfect, holy God.
Jesus made the way
He lived the life we couldn’t, died the death we owed, and rose again — the bridge back to God.
You can say yes
It’s a free gift, not a reward. Trust Him, call on Him, and start a brand-new life today.
“However far off you feel today, the road home is shorter than you think.”
Friend, I’m glad you’re here. You didn’t land on this page by accident. Maybe you’ve carried a quiet ache for a long time — a sense that there has to be more, that something between you and God needs mending. I want to walk you down a road the Bible lays out, one honest step at a time. It’s called the Romans Road, and every stop on it is a verse of Scripture. Take my hand; we’ll go slow — and it’s all uphill toward the light.

Walk it one stop at a time — each stop is a single verse. Nothing to buy, nothing to earn; just tap onward when your heart is ready.

We all need this
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
Start here, because it’s the great equalizer. Not most of us — all of us. Me, the preacher, included. Sin simply means we’ve missed the mark of God’s perfect goodness, and every honest heart already knows it’s true. This isn’t God shaming you. It’s God being honest with you, because you can’t be healed of a wound you won’t admit you have.

What sin costs — and what God offers
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
A wage is something you earn; you work, and it’s owed to you. Sin pays a wage too, and the Bible calls it death — separation from God. But look at the turn in that verse: right where we’d expect the bill, God hands us a gift. And a gift can’t be earned, only received. That word — gift — is the whole doorway.
-
How much He already loves you
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
Here’s the heart of it. God didn’t wait for you to clean yourself up first. While we were still a mess — still turned the wrong way — Jesus went to the cross in our place and paid the wage we owed. That’s not love you have to win. It’s love that came looking for you.

How to come home
“…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”Romans 10:9 (NKJV)
Two simple things, and neither one is a good deed you perform to deserve heaven. Believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again — really trust Him. And confess Him as Lord — tell Him, and tell others, that He’s yours. It’s not a ritual or a payment. It’s a homecoming: turning from your own way and trusting Jesus completely.
-
And this promise has your name on it
“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
Read that word again: whoever. Not the good-enough. Not the church-raised. Not the people who have it all together. Whoever — and that word is wide enough to have you standing right inside it. No past is too far back, no sin too deep. If you’ll call on Him, He has already promised the answer.

You can settle this today.
There are no magic words that save a person — it’s the Savior who saves, when a heart truly turns to Him. But sometimes it helps to have words to say. If you believe what we just read, and you’re ready to trust Jesus and receive God’s free gift, you can tell Him so right now, in your own quiet way. A prayer like this one simply means what you’re saying to Him:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner, and I know I can’t save myself. I believe You died for me and rose again. Right now I turn from my own way, and I trust You alone. Thank You for loving me and forgiving me. Come be my Savior and my Lord. From today on, I’m Yours. Amen.”
If you meant that from your heart, the Bible says you are a child of God — and here’s the part that steadies a soul: it’s His grip that holds you, not yours. Jesus said of His own, “they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28). You didn’t earn your way in, and you can’t stumble your way back out. You are held.
In His own words.
When your feelings waver — and they will — these are the promises to stand on. Read them slowly. They’re for you.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3:16
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.Revelation 3:20
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”Isaiah 1:18
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2 Corinthians 5:17
The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.John 6:37
These things I have written to you… that you may know that you have eternal life.1 John 5:13
“But what about…”
You don’t have to silence your doubts to come to Jesus. Here are a few of the ones we hear most — answered honestly.
“I’ve done too much wrong.”
There is no sin so big that the cross is too small for it. The people Jesus welcomed most warmly were the ones everyone else had written off. Your past is exactly what He came to carry — and He already has.“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” — Isaiah 1:18
“I’ve tried before and drifted away.”
Coming to Jesus isn’t about how tightly you can hold on — it’s about how tightly He holds you. If you’ve wandered, that’s not the end of the story; the door is still open and the light is still on. Come home again.“They shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” — John 10:28
“I’m not sure I even believe.”
You don’t need perfect faith — just honest faith. A man once told Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief,” and Jesus met him right there. Start with what little you have and ask God to make it real. He’s not scared of your questions.“Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” — Mark 9:24
“Isn’t church full of hypocrites?”
Honestly? A church is a hospital for the broken, not a museum for the perfect — so yes, you’ll find flawed people here, us included. But we’re not asking you to trust us. We’re pointing you to Jesus, who never once let anyone down. Come as you are; there’s room.“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” — Mark 2:17
“What if I mess up after?”
You will — we all do. But being saved was never about becoming flawless overnight; it’s about being forgiven and growing. When you stumble, you don’t lose your place in the family. You come to your Father, you’re forgiven, and you keep walking.“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.” — 1 John 1:9
You just took the biggest step. Here are the next few.
